Tour and death

We've unfortunately have had to cancel the week long tour through Germany

and Switzerland in november together with Ocean Chief, stand in for us will be Kongh wich, due to their prior engagements, has lead to us having to cancel the Switzerlandgig.

Sorry and thank you Nadine and the rest of the Shever gang.

The reason for this decision is due to the untimely death and funeral of my father Lennart Pilebrand, the despair knows no boundaries.

Inde ira et lacrimae

And apart from being struck with grief and the acute sence of loss, the time isn't there to get everything together, and to do a badly prepared tour is like shooting your self in the foot.

The promoters will be upset, as well as the venues, clubs and clubowners and most importantly, we would never risk loosing the support from the audience by doing a bad show, or in this case an badly performed tour, so we have canceled.

I will come along for the tour as a tourmanager instead of a musician since I've basically have taken care of, and booked the whole tour from day one.

Here's the tour-schedule

11.17.07 Kongh/Ocean Chief, Cold Despair, Cologne

11.18.07 Kongh/Ocean Chief, Mainz,

11.19.07 Kongh/Ocean Chief, Zorro, Leipzig

11.20.07 Kongh/Ocean Chief, Doom over Nuernberg/Kunstverein

11.21.07 Kongh/Ocean Chief, Berlin, last show, Pirate cove

BTFS will now concentrate on finishing the album and get back to Germany, Switzerland and hopefully Austria, Holland and France in april/may 2008

together with Kongh and It Will Come for an extended tour to promote the

new album.

Take care, doom on.

Sincerly

Doom and death

The recent lack of updates is due to the death of my father Lennart Pilebrand, things are turned up side down and darkness is everywhere, bare with me, this might take a while.

New Recording

We've started the recording of the new album, as of now all the drums/guitars/bass-tracks are recorded.

Within the next 3 weeks we plan on recording vocals, cello and aditional fx.

There are 10 tracks recorded, none that are shorter then 5 minutes, so prepare for doom.

Live slow, die old.

The doom struggles on

Things are moving along, during the time of Busters depature things have not grinded to a hault eventhough it might have seemed like it due to the lack of updates.

We have 10 new songs that are more or less finnished and recordings will start during the last week of July.

We will once again enter Dreamix Studios for a two week recording session with Jonas Tallhage and Mathias Thunell as recording engineers/producers

There has been a couple of vocalists showing interest of becoming the new leadsinger for BTFS and we are screening them all.

We are confident that one will emerge as the perfect choice.

Either one will be found before the new recording starts or all the vocalparts on the recording will be handled by Linus Pilebrand and live by both Pilebrand and the lead vocalist to be.

Don't worry, no biggie.

Take care for now, stay low and slow.

/Linus

A time for departure

As of last Friday (march 24th), I am no longer a part of Beneath The Frozen Soil. The reason for this is purely personal. I came to a point where I could not honestly claim to have the time, dedication and energy to give the band what it and it's members deserve. And it deserves a 100%

It’s with a heavy heart that I take this step. This band has meant a lot to me over the passed three years. At the time of it’s inception it meant almost everything. But also it has lately meant a great deal of feelings of guilt because of my lacking of focus on what the band needs. Now all that has passed and I wish the guys the best of luck with the future of the band.

To you who cared enough to buy the music, thank you. To the very few of you who saw me live with this band, thank you even more for your support.

Last but definitely not least, to Linus, Olof and Robert, thank you for this experience. I will never forget it.

Over and out.

Now the aim is set for Trollhättan(swe) on march the 30:th together with It Will Come at Club Extreme, and on Kalmar(swe, our hometown) on the 31:st of march together with local support at The Rock.

Now it's getting really close!

It's mixed, it's mastered and it's finally on its way to Israel. In a matter of weeks (hopefully) the finished result will be in our hands and eventually possibly also in yours.

It's been a damn long road and many a fuck-up along the way. We are, as you all know, a cursed band after all. But at least now the fuck-ups, mishaps and bad luck won't be our responsibility.

We want to thank everybody that has been involved in this recording, your help has been invaluable.

Odds and ends

At the moment we are in a period of waiting. Waiting for our latest recording to get done in the mixing and mastering department, waiting for Manuel Tinnemans of Bunkur to finalize the new logo we've commissioned from him, waiting to get all details of our almost done deal with a record company, soon-to-be-announced, cleared. This deal includes the re-recorded songs from our first EP + 1 new song and later our full length debut.

In the meantime we focus on getting songs ready for said full-length that is scheduled for sometime next year.

No more EP's

After having witnessed the awesome power of doom at the Doom Shall Rise festival and having met quite a lot of interesting characters and friends from afar, I am glad to be able to inform you that there is no longer any copies left of the hand numbered and highly limited first edition of the "the First Wreath" EP available, at least not from the band.

But for all those "die-hard´s" out there still inclined of getting their hands on the limited edition, we recommend you either the Psychedoomelic and/or the Nothingness Records online store who might still have some few copies left.

There will be an unlimited and less exclusive version of the EP (without the full colour booklet and not in a slimline-case) available for purchase via our on-line shop-section as soon as the well needed sleep/hibernation is over, and a full recovery after the brutal and absolutely crushing force that is the Doom Shall Rise-festival is done.

Thanks goes out to Ola Blomqvist from I Hate Records and Jonas Jörgensen from It Will Come for the great travelling companionship.

Stay slow für immer...

Music and pictures

More news from the doomsdayfront!

The finalization of the the new recording is going well, soundtechnician Jonas Tallhage is doing a hell of a job getting everything together and making it sound totaly and utterly devestating.

Slower, fatter and more massive is what describes it the best.

So until its completion, bare with us and take a look at the new rehearsal pics found in the sights-section.

More recordings are afoot

Mister Pilebrand is as I write this in a car eastward bound. He is going back to Kalmar and studio DreaMix to meet up with Anna-Greta Larsson to lay down some new cello parts for both the re-recording of our ep "The First Wreath" and also for the brand new song "So Stil". This recording will be BTFS's part of an upcoming split release destined to see the light of day before summer 2006.

Label and band-info soon to come.

The rest of the material will in a matter of days be shipped to soundman Jonas Tallhage for mixing and some minor additions of sound.

More on this topic will be posted later.
